Celebrating the Beautiful, Fleeting Moments of Life
Look at a daffodil — it blooms for only a short while, yet it is one of the most beautiful sights of spring. In this lesson, poet Robert Herrick talks to the daffodils as friends and teaches us that life, like a flower, is short — so we must enjoy every golden moment.
Think First (सोचिए)
How long does a flower stay fresh in a garden? And how long does a human life seem in the vastness of time?

Why Do Flowers Fade? Why Is Life Precious?
Move from the garden to your own heart. Reflect on time, gratitude and the present moment.
Why Do Flowers Fade?
Every living thing has its season. A daffodil blooms in spring, is beautiful for a short while, then withers. This is nature's own rhythm — winter gives way to spring, and spring to autumn. Nothing in nature stays the same for ever.
Why Is Life Precious?
Because it is limited. Herrick says we have “short time to stay”. When we know time is precious, every sunrise, every visit with family, every simple meal becomes a gift. Like a flower, we bloom only once — so make it bloom brightly.
Appreciate the Present Moment
Mindfulness means noticing this moment with all your senses — the smell of rain, the colour of a leaf, you go of a friend's voice. When you stop rushing, small beauties around you feel large. Herrick's poem is an invitation to just that.

One Last Word from Herrick
“We have short time to stay, as you, we have as short a spring.”
He is not telling us to be sad — he is telling us to be alert and grateful. Because the dew dries by noon, the morning itself becomes a treasure. Go out and enjoy your spring, student hero!
